Saturday Walks

Saturday Walks are between 7 and 8 miles long and start within a reasonable radius of Polegate/ Eastbourne. They all start at 9.30 am. and there is a coffee break about halfway. We shall be finished by 2.00 pm.

Make your own way to the start point but share if possible and don’t forget to contact the walk leader to book your place.

November 29th A Winter Wander over the South Downs 8 miles 0 stiles
A circular walk from Eastbourne Youth Hostel to East Dean and Friston return. Some hills. Steep roadside walk at the start and a steep climb from East Dean to Friston Church.
Starting point: Eastbourne Youth Hostel, East Dean Road (W3W: thigh.offer.rocks). Start at 9.30 a.m.

Saturday 27th December Southease Circular 5 miles 0 stiles
A fairly easy walk beside the River Ouse and then up towards Telscome Tye, dropping down to Telscombe village and returning via Southease Church. A couple of slopes but nothing too strenuous. Refreshments will be available at Southease YHA on our return.
Starting point: Southease YHA. Meet at Polegate Rec at 09:15 for car sharing at 09:30 a.m. or at the car park at the rear of Southease YHA about 10:00 a.m. SVP £3.60.
